ABOUT

Emily Casebolt was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and was raised in San Diego, California.

Her passion for writing began at fourteen, and her love for video games began at eleven. Little did she know that both of those mediums would intersect. Emily continued her writing journey through college, where she majored in Digital Filmmaking at New Mexico State University.

Upon graduation, she quickly found how difficult it was to get her foot in the door in the film industry. So while she lived in San Diego, Emily applied for a Baseball Test Analyst position at PlayStation. Spoiler alert: she didn't get that job.

Emily become a Game Test Analyst on Marvel's Spider-Man instead. She would continue her career in Quality Assurance with titles such as Days Gone and Ghost of Tsushima. It was this job that made it clear to her: she didn't want to work in film. She wanted to work in games.

Emily continued to build on her writing craft as she gained experience with game development through the QA department. She moved on from PlayStation and gained a QA Analyst position at Unbroken Studios.

This was where Emily was given the opportunity to provide her writing skills along with her QA experience. For Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, she wrote various game announcer lines that are heard in the game, text for the newspaper that's featured in the first cinematic, and tutorial lines in the voices of the characters from the Harry Potter universe.

This is only the beginning for Emily. She continues to build on her narrative design skills and improve the body of work in her portfolio.

Emily currently lives in Los Angeles, CA with her boyfriend and dog.
